Just a rhetorical question. What are your opinions? I am not planning on doing this anytime soon, but I don't think I would have a problem doing it at some time in the future, if I was sure about the decision.

If you're ready I would say go for it. Throw caution to the wind. I think it would be very attractive! Quite a shock to him though. I honestly thought about it myself but my husband beat me to it.

I think a proposal from either a man or a woman should and usually comes when both parties know that they want to marry each other anyway. However.... I AM old fashioned in thinking that a man should propose......I think it's because I believe that a man is always the luckier one in a relationship.....well, usually it is this way.

Don't see anything wrong with it these days. Years ago it was almost unheard of. But if the guy is hesitant and you think he's holding back because he's not sure of himself with you, sure, go for it. You could at least give him a hint or indication of wanting a marriage without actually proposing it if you're wanting to see him do it.

I say Go Right Ahead! Times have changed and I feel that if You love someone You can protest Your love for them! Plus women are more sentimental so You could arrange for a very special proposal.

It's not unheard of, actually, I think it would be hilarious just to see the stunned look on his face. I think men are always afraid of what decision we women will make when they take this step. The face the possibility of rejection on the spot, but they are courageous enough to try.

What's the saying? "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

Depends on the person I am proposing to, and how sure I am with myself decision. And if it was me proposing in this day and time, if you snooze you lose.

I wouldn't do it, women are usually the ones who are ready for marriage and men are usually afraid of even thinking about it. If they don't ask they are definately not ready. You would only embarrass yourself or make him feel less masculine. Depends on who he is, but as a whole I think most men would need to ask. Personally I would have never asked.

It would depend on the couple. Some guys want to be the one in charge of doing the asking, so they might not like having that opportunity taken away from them.

this question comes up almost every day. it is ok if a girl asks her guy how he views their future and tells him she loves him and wants to be married, but then it is up to him and him only to propose. every male on earth knows this. when did it become fashionable for females to decide that it was okay to ask men to marry them? i wonder if it is desperation or a complete lack of upbringing. well, whatever works for ya.

That's pretty ballsy, no pun intended.

But I'm pretty traditional. I think the man should propose. He should man up and settle down if she's the one he wants.
