Hi - A book I found very good for depression and to change your way of thinking is Mind Over Mood by Dennis Greenberger - I bought a copy on ebay or most libraries stock the book - my G.P. recommended it - you may also be able to get a copy from Amazon - do hope this helps you.

yes it is hard to undo years of ingrained behavior in just a few years. I give you two assignments and ask you to remember there must be something good about you, you have someone who loves and accepts you for who you are. There are many who don't and feel they r so superior to others it's laughable. Your assignment should you decide to accept it is: Sit by yourself and force yourself to write down 5 or more positive things about yourself no matter how insignificant they may seem. Cling to that. Now the next time you're alone and I know this sounds silly or perverted, but do it anyway OK? stand in front of the mirror butt naked and really look at everything about you. I mean it really see it, not what you think you see, and realize there is someone who really loves that package. He really does. Because if all you say that others say about you were actually true then he would not even consider you as a mate. There is a book by DR. Laura Schlessinger. bad childhood, good life.
