No. Retreat? Americans Do not retreat. We need to be in that part of the world. Once upon a time the oceans separated us. This is no longer the case. The land "over there" is saturated with people and organizations that want us dead. The Governments are not strong enough to prevent these organizations from spreading, building infrastructure and gaining Government posts. This must be stopped and contained.

Since when a country back off to save the life of its peoples! Well, I never heard of such occurences!! And the US has much more credibility and purposes by remaining in Afganistan than remaining in Iraq, so I guess we should first pull out of Iraq, and then get the heads of Ben Laden and quit! But since most countries involved in Afganistan want only one thing (controlling it), then it will not happen anytime soon! And from what I have seen, the Taliban never really behead hostages before, so this whole thing seems suspicious to me! We are not in Iraq there...

No, that would be showing the terrorists that killing hostages will be rewarded with troops retreating. This world is such a mess, I don't have an answer for what se should do instead.

It's news like these that make me want to enlist in the army and do something about this. putting strategically before retreat doesn't make it "strategic." what we need to do is stop the terrorists and don't give in to their demands. I hope that these tragedies implore the government to concentrate even more on stopping these terrorists. I'm Korean.

Now, that is the most cowardly solution to terrorism that I have ever heard. My answer is: No, we should step up our game & kill more terrorists. The harder they push, the harder we fight. That's the way heroes and winners do it. They don't retreat like a bunch of spineless wimps.
Now I see how your brain works. You would run from a problem, rather than solve it. . . . . kind of like you did with Mary Jo Kopeckne at Chappaquidic. Sissy.
