Chess, it's all about whether or not you make the right moves.

None of the games you mentioned would be very credible contenders. A possible exception might be found in "Clue." It's a bit too trivial to be useful as a model of mind, but it could be extended, at the cost of making it less of a game-as-social-vehicle. With "just enough" added complexity, it might serve.

Another possible candidate game, that would reflect at least one theory of mind, might be Nomic, especially some variant of it that included a plausible set of 'material rules,' that were indeed 'immutable.' ('material rules' is my own phrase; 'immutable rules' is a commonplace in nomic games and discussions). The problem is that Nomic and its variants are not games as most people understand games.

Another possible candidate game might be had in some development of my own 'Inductive Reason Game' (not published, as I'm not yet ready to publish). But, as my game models only some aspects of mind, especially those activities of mind that are related to 'scientific behavior,' my game would not do the job as well as would Nomic.

The pairing of the two would make a much better game-as-model-of-mind--but it would be DREADFULLY difficult to play. I'd play it, and I might be able to find 20 more players in the English-speaking world. That's not exactly a bestselling game, is it?

Chess...you pick and choose the people (pieces) that surround you (the king), castle (home) your neighborhood. Some pieces become disposable, set up as decoys to get what you want. Sometimes in life, we do the same. Good luck.

hmmm...i think the mind would be a maze. quite often you take wrong turns, run into dead ends, and end up back where you started, but eventually you get where you need to with perserverance.
