Answer the questions you want to. Ignore those you don't. When you come across something promoting hate or bigotry or immorality, report it and move on.

I block those people who have upset me repeatedly. It means that I have a visual reminder that I would prefer not to deal with them, plus they are prevented from following me around via my profile, giving me thumbs down just because I have displeased them.

In the end, does it really matter WHAT happens on here? You can choose to participate, or you can choose to leave the place to the cretins. Or you can do like the vast majority of us do every day, and that is avoid all the idiots and make your way through the questions, still trying to help, and connecting with your special friends along the way. I guess you just have to develop better ducking skills.

Good question, I have been whacked by someone asking for comfort foods, I said here you can find many good recipes for comfort foods without a bunch of exotic engredients--she said I attacked her intelligence. Another lady had a cat box dumped in a drain and it was plugged, she said her 5 year old did it. Well, cat boxes aren't light and a 5 year old is too short to reach a sink and lift it and dump it. I said, if she dumped it in the drain then she would be more cautious the next time--whack again. Said she needed no insight on how to raise her children. Odd person asking off the wall questions all the time, claiming to be a professional, I said if in fact you are so good at this area maybe you could tell me the answer--blocked!! A resident of Hong Kong thinking his elderely parents should have a guaranteed income of 5K a month, I said no, I could be rich in 2 months---blocked. I have also noticed that some pick what they want to hear and the truth is not even an option. It is rather humerous sometimes and I just move on and answer honestly when an abuse report rolls in .

If a persons ? is real the answer is also real,no vulgar comments. There are persons asking very ,very peevish, fettish ? the need some treatment that is being given. We know the ettiqiucy. No need to advocate or so.This is not a school or college level Q and A site. After reaching certain age ,certain things cannot be asked anywhere.Even right things cannot be asked at right person, because the society is as such. So,I have an option to Querry and give certain answers to any needy people. Some times your LOL also makes me get anger,am I doing it ,this site is also a game, try to take it lighter sense.

I agree with you. I didn't realize how beat up I would get when I put a question on here for advice but the situation had some moral issues which everyone felt the need to comment about....and I didn't even ask their opinions about what happened, but I got them any way.

But even with other questions, I've had nasty, nasty answers. I wonder how long this will last. Maybe it should be more censored than it is or maybe people like you and I just don't expect everyone to be so mean and judgmental.

I think in the meantime, we have to find a way to ignore them.

I think sometimes a question or answer gets someone on the raw and they are rude, some can only express themselves in that way.
I have just had a reply disallowed as abusive. i did not swear but I meant exactly what I said. It was straight to the point. Some people can not cope with the truth

It was never designed to be a chat room but the news category is just that lately, it's full of 'in people' and cliques posting messages to each other and making it difficult for the regulars (pre McCanns) to be able to use it.
And as for people labelling others 'pro and 'anti' I've had some disgusting e-mails this last few days accusing me of changing my stance and becoming Pro McCann when in fact I feel exactly the same as I did a few weeks ago, but unlike some people I can step outside of the issue and see both points of view. I don't have to approve of the McCanns but I can try to understand why others might, that doesn't make me 'pro' it just means I am open minded to all sides of the debate.
It was horrendous on here on Monday, I was ashamed of the things people were writing, and some of them were people I used to admire and respect, I saw them behaving like a bunch of playground bullies and it upset me. By voicing my opinion and making them aware that their posts were neither intelligent nor constructive everyone childishly assumed I am now on the 'other side' It's impossible to identify with people who think one dimensionally.

You should check what goes on in the Disabilities forum, there are people who post calling disabled people retards and morons.

One person posted "what should I do about my retarded sister?" and his side kick posted "hit her over the head with a hammer and get rid of her"

Its happening more and more with a certain group of extremely ignorant people with nothing better to do then surf though Yahoo looking for people to insult and harass.

I've also noticed that reporting abuses more often than not accomplishes nothing, the posts remain. One person has posted 190 harassing bigoted posts and is still happily posting away.

I completely agree, like so many things in life you need to weed through the bad to get to the good. No, it shouldn't have to be that way. In many respects, from what I have seen here, we are dealing with ignorant, hateful, bigoted people who have nothing better to do. They need a real life !!

There seems to be a climate running throughout the YA site which is causing distress. I've just lost another contact to leaving the site permanently because of constant haranguing from trouble makers. That isn't what this is supposed to be about. Surely we're all adult enough to express ourselves w/o having to attack to do so.

I know what You mean, I asked a question on here the other day and someone answered saying I shouldn't be concerning my self with what other people think on this matter it is none of my business, I mean HELLO! that is what this site is for, and he obviously did not get that (idiot).

And some people are so touchy if they don't like your answer they send you abuse that is sooo pathetic, they shouldn't ask a question if they don't want our views and opinions.
