A less active hurricane season due to COOLING? Say it aint so!

Oh wait, those of us who know this was all hogwash to begin with already knew it.

To Hypofoucs - I enjoyed your hypocritical remarks, pathetic as they were.

You stated that you ignored the disrespect in my question and then turned around and generated this '...you'll be back with another blustering, angry, irrational comment...'

So your observations are justified yet mine are 'disrespectful'? Funny ; )

Edit: I see they didn't like the other source showing we have known the myth of global warming since 1997. Here are some from other countries for you people that think the scientist have agreed that humans have a significant role in global warming. Don't take my word for it, READ it and weep. There is no agreement here. In fact the data don't support the global warming fear mongers assertions.

So here is an updated version, showing the MYTH lives.

Another Canada: http://calsun.canoe.ca/News/Columnists/Corbella_Licia/2007/03/14/3748254.html

England, Canada, and Austrailia... pretty liberal countries and they disagree with Al.....

Ignoring the disrespect in your question, global warming theory does not hold that temperatures will always go steadily up. The seasonal variations will still happen. We'll still have summer, and winter, and we'll still have cooler times and warmer times. But overall, the mean temperature across many years and the entire earth is (this is undisputed - thermometers don't lie) going up.

Of course, you completely misread the article anyway. It says the temperature for this season is "cooler than expected." That's different from being cooler than last year. Your obnoxious question is a classic example of what we get over and over from people like you. You misunderstand the science, you seize on every tiny little fact that you think is a discrepancy (because you misunderstand the science) and then you get knocked on your *** when someone who does understand it easily explains it. But of course you don't learn from it - you'll be back with another blustering, angry, irrational comment the next time a cold front comes through and you think you've completely disproved a widely accepted scientific theory.

As has been pointed out, this is not "due to COOLING"

"The 2007 hurricane season may be less severe than forecast due to cooler-than-expected water temperatures in the tropical Atlantic, private forecaster WSI Corp said on Tuesday....Despite the downgraded forecast, WSI still expects the 2007 season to be more active than last year, and added that storm-weary parts of the Gulf Coast could still be hit."

Cooler than expected equals cooling in what warped world?

You need to follow the science a little more, the glaciers are still melting despite some cooler temps. Cooler temperatures in some areas certainly dont disprove anything about global warming.

Why do CONS hold science and technology in such low esteem?

When it's medical science or flat screen TV technology that clearly benefits them, they don't seem to question all of the theory behind the science, do they? They would not ask for a 100% consensus from every doctor in the country before asking for a life saving surgery.

You mean there are variations from year to year! OMG how shocking.

Nowhere in that article did it say that there was cooling on a global scale.

"The 2007 hurricane season may be less severe than forecast due to cooler-than-expected water temperatures in the tropical Atlantic, private forecaster WSI Corp said on Tuesday. "

As a matter of fact it did not even say there was cooling.

"Despite the downgraded forecast, WSI still expects the 2007 season to be more active than last year, and added that storm-weary parts of the Gulf Coast could still be hit."

Suggestion: reading comprehension --->
Cooler than expected does not equal cooling.

Edit: I love the 10 year old article posted by libsticker written by a private industry tool. Okay, yeah now I am convinced....not.

you seem to forget all these storms start in the bay of Benin. and cross the Atlantic first and the waters there are hotter this year than last year. so maybe they should look into that first before thinking things are not so bad

i think you need to read about what global warming really entails before you ask silly questions. plus buy the way what if there isn't global warming. Does that mean that we can go around and trash the planet? Also what do you care. its not going to cost you anything if its real. your not going to have to pay anything extra. like some Global warming tax. the only thing you'll have to do is admit that your wrong.
