That's me!

Part of the reason is that... well, where are your parents? Where are the police?
Think about it. The intarwebs is a place where people can act how they want, without the overhead of being expected to act in a certain way. If you want to speek 1337, nobody can stop you. If calling everybody a "n00b" is your thing, well, good for you.
This is what happens when there are no consequences. Given the anonamousness of the internet, people feel they can behave as they like. Especially if I'm in England, and you're in the US, cos you can't catch me!

Another reason is to fit in the with the "crowd". For example, if you get a group of these people (who tend to be in the agebracket of above 10, and below 16) together online, they'll act more like each other, resulting in a spiral to idiocy, which generally only maturity, or the firm hand of a grammer-nazi can bring them out of.

So, in summary, it's because they can.

Thanks,
PAz

We are especially demented when we don't go with the entire flow on here and instead go to the beat of our own drum and heart. WOW! Others hate that.

I think people affect different personas online as they can hide in anonymity and be "different" or "wild". A nice escape for people that might otherwise be socially shy or non-opinionated.

One has to be at least a little off-kilter to ride the Cyberian roller coaster. Some of us just do it better than others.

Yeah...we are all subject to that at least once a day. We get a little wound too tight and it breaks the stress a little. Don't take us too seriously...it will pass.

Of course. If we were like normal people, we would be out living our lives instead of sitting here typing away!
