Hi guys,

I ordered a simfree mobile phone thru the website:

http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/

They claimed to deliver the goods on next working days, but until now I haven't received anything from them even an email notification. (it has been almost 2 weeks)

The website order tracker always shows my order despatched. My credit card has been debited successfully, but after I sent dozens of emails there still no words from them.

I'm really mad. What should I do?

Thanks for all your opinions!!

I think it would be a good start to contact my credit card bank first for my fight back.

And fortunately I got the insurance company's letter. After talking to them I canceled the phone insurance first and got mobilephonesdirect's number!! They got a number after all! I wonder why they don't put it on the web.

It's 0800888100. I'll start my phone complaint soon, haha!! Then I'll choose the best answer once my problems are solved. Thanks again!

Hello.I've just been having a look at their website and am not very happy with the fact they don't have a phone number listed. As you have already been in contact with them, and have not received any response,I would suggest you do the following over the next few days:-

1.You contact the credit card company and ask them for advice about how to get your money back as you have not got the goods. They will put this item on your credit card as being "in dispute" and will be held until an investigation can be done.
2.I would then contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) for an appointment and ask them for their help in resolving the problem. The CAB are experts in "Distance Selling Regulations" laws and will be able to assist you.
3.I would also like you to complain to the Trading Standards office and make a formal complaint about the way you have been dealt with. Like the CAB,they have some real 'clout' when it comes to resolving problems like this.
4.Never use any website service that doesn't have a phone number in its "Contact Us" page.I make a point of never using any firm that doesn't have a phone number.

I wish you all the best in resolving your problem. Alan L.

P.S.I would NOT go down the route suggested directly above using the Courts. This should only be done as a LAST - repeat LAST - resort.

Do this ..............STEP BY STEP.

From their website, find the address of the shop/unit which sent the phone. Send a Recorded delivery Letter- giving them 7 days to deliver. Tell them that if there is no phone after the 7 days has elapsed, you will sue via The Small Claims Court for £XXX. Your sum sued should be..... Cost of Phone (P and P etc.). Your time taken off work. Payment for inconvenience etc. This should be around £200 added to the cost of the phone. They will never pay all this, but, by rule of thumb, will usually offer 50%. At the same time report them to their Local Trading Standards Office, The Mobile Phone Service Authority (they have a website) and Phone Media Corp.
This will get them moving................... GOOD LUCK.
Hope this helps.

as you gave them allowance to debit your credit card, you should try to get the money back via your bank or credit card provider.
write to them another email, content "I will not pay before receiving my phone".

or get a lawyer, if you can't get the money back, nor get the handy. legal means is your last way, I suppose.

I too have just looked at their site, and no phone number? i clicked on the store finder. i know there`s not many, and again no phone numbers, but perhaps directory enquiries could help. i hope you get it sorted mate.
