Maybe people don't often dig through their freezer in the middle in the night to get a glass of juice!

Could be because nobody lives in the freezer, it's too cold even for the tribes of fridge people who steal food in the night...

It would not be cost efficient, the cost of a bulb that would not break from the extreme temperature and also one that didn't get hot when it was on wouldn't be worth while. if raw meat was in the freezer and it was close to the bulb whilst the door was left open for a few minutes, it could easily defrost part of the meat, then if this was to freeze again it would not be safe to eat.

I rigged alight in the freezer. But food don't last around here long enough to be frozen.
I eat the ice cream on the way home from the store.
