Why do I feel emotionally drained?

Was feeling very alive and happy this morning until I met up with some relatives whom I found out are going thru some problems with their families. They're the ones with the problems so how come I feel so heavy inside now? I'm not with them anymore but I feel so exhausted.

Dealing with difficult situations can always drain you emotionally.
