I was hoping to do loads of hours (20hrs a week) for vacation work before I go into 6th form, but I found out on some sites that it can take about 6 months to get fully trained

trust me its a long process! Mc D's is very organised, well especially where I worked once upon a time! If ur a till crew member its not as long and u'll be working unsupervised in no time! But to learn everything yes at least six months!

3 months is the standard trial, training period, they still pay you for your training hours anyway and the wages are **** whether you are a trainee or qualified so I would suggest workingin a cafe or something if you haven't already been hired by maccas, also if you haven't had your interview yet you should ask these questions at your interview, this will also show them you are keen and want to work lots of hours

years ago I use to work for McDonald's and they only trained me for a week. Then the next week for about 2 days, I was with another crew member...But by the third week, I was all by my lonesome

I'm working there right now and I was only trained for say...a week? No, five days to be exact. It's pretty easy money actually. It's not some really hard work.

I find it hard to believe that is takes six months training to flip burgers and say 'do you want fries with that'. I don't mean to sound nasty, but its not the most pressing of jobs.

I was officially trained for two days, half-heartedly supervised for one, and then I was on my own.

it'll be on the job training I would have thought. once you learn about hygeine, I can't see you having too much to learn. trainign should be paid too.
