i am giving my male betta fish the right medicine for tail rot and his tale is getting shorter and shorter, what do you think is happening and how do you think i can solve this problem,

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Well, either you don't have fin rot or you need to switch medications.

Assuming you do have fin rot on your bettas tail, it could be a strain that's resistant to whatever medication you are using. I don't know what medication you are using but some that are effective (normally) for fin rot are Furanase, Maracyn, Maracyn TC (or any other tetracycline) and amipicillin. If you aren't using one of those try switching to one or if you are already using one from that list switch to a different one. The rot should stop within 2 days of the beginning of treatment, but do continue to treat for at least 7 days to be sure you clear the bacteria from the tank.

You can use Melafix to treat it. Walmart has it. Or you can operate on it. But it's risky.
