I understand. I know how to google, but there are times I want an opinion. Usually if I am asking a question where there is the option of someone telling me to look it up -- I will state that I know I could look this up but I want to hear from a person their opinion. That will usually stop the ones who just say look it up. And there have been times I have given my opinion and then told someone you may want to use a search engine for more info. So, I will say to you I do have an opinion.
Peace.

Because if you look it up and read it yourself, you will learn more than you will from just the short answer most people give. If a link is provided, you at least have a good place to start.
I often do that when it looks like someone is trying to get me to do their homework for them.
If it's an opinion question, then I will give my opinion. If it's facts you want, I like to give a site to find them.
In the travel area, I give my opinion and usually provide a link so the person can get more info if they want. After all, I don't know everything.

Too often folks ask a question that is EASILY found ON LINE. It's pure laziness expecting other people to do the research for you.
Asking INFORMATION is much different from asking an OPINION. You can't an opinion by googling.

Well many times the question could easily be found with a quick search and has been answered repeatedly on here. For example, people asking Pascal's Wager constantly. All they need to do is do a quick search on why it is a terrible argument.

most of the time we suggest looking it up yourself online it is because it appears the question is asked just because someone is lazy and does not want to take the effort to do the research themselves..which is much different from gathering opinions from a variety of sources..do you understand? it is for your own good..
