If i fit a shower pump which feeds both hot & cold, but only use the cold half of the pump, will the pump be damaged.

Transfer the supply pipe onto your mains and you will have plenty pressure.

If you're using the pump to boost the pressure feeding the cold and the supply to the water heater the answer is no, you will not hurt the pump.

Why dont you connect the outside tap to the cold water main supply? Cheaper than installing any pump

Why not go to a farm supply store and get a well pump. They have a bladder that increases pressure with out surges?

why not feed both sides of pump with a y-section and same on outlet

all you need to do is install a bladder tank with a check valve. make sure it is large enough to get through a shower.
