We have no accountability of where social security dollars go and government run health care would be the same way.
You can bet that the taxes will just keep going up.

Your children, grand children and great grandchildren will be paying for the Iraq war, instead of today's corporations benefit ting from the war spending and the tax cuts they like so much.

But no, universal health care is not like SS or medicare where people paying into the system now (but not yet drawing from it) support the people using the system now.

Under Universal health care, everyone pays, everyone benefits in the current time. Compare it to schools or highways - Paid for by tax dollars, available for use by everyone who needs it right now without fee or restriction.

Correction Bush didn't raid the Social Security Fund .because there isn't any fund to raid. Lyndon B. Johnson, Democrat took the Social Security fund put it in to the General fund and spent it on his failed social programs during his administration (1963 to 1969)

i alway love when people use the term free health care when refering to places like england and such.

its not free its forced. you pay for it in very high taxed. I grew up in america paid for health care like everyone else. moved to england 5 years ago. the taxes you pay to get this healthcare are crippling. while you get care it is no where near the quality you get in america. you wait on almost everything you need done, it makes it hard to find people to work in the fields becuase the pay is not worth it.

Take dentist as one example. i had to wait 1 year 2 months just to get on a dentist patient list becuase they dont have enough. they hires 3 for our area they were from poland germany and holland. the one from holland wasnt even a dentist they found that out much later the one from germany was deported becuase they found out later that she had hired a hitman to beat a guy up in order to collect payment for service she did while in germany. and the one from holland was a wanted criminal also...

it is domething that can be looked into but it should stop being called free and remember the grass in not always so green

Universal healthcare is good on paper but bad in the implementation because the politicians will just use the contributions of people for their interests.

This is not an accurate summary of social security as it was in surplus until Bush raided that surplus to pay for tax cuts and war.
It provides a better system than ours in 36 other countries with lower healthcare costs and better health statistics.
Why do you hate America so much as to believe we are incapable of doing something every other developed country does effectively?

probably. Another good example is the sterling way that our government is dealing locating and deporting illegals.

And people want these folks responsible for their healthcare?
