You lose your keys but you don't lose your lockpicking set? Get real.

I think the question you really need to ask is, "is it legal to have lockpicking tools?" If it is, then there would be no problem about carrying them in your purse. Considering you're in Europe, I'd say it's probably not legal (you guys have more strict security stuff over there). But how often do cops search your handbag, really? Just put them in a pocket where they won't fall out at inopportune moments.

Weird laws in the USA... It's perfectly legal in the UK but you might raise an eyebrow if you were stopped by the police.

Curiously enough, the typical lock-picking tools of real criminals are crowbars and big hammers, not little dental tools.

So, after picking your own lock 8 times, whose locks are you going to pick now??? What is the "hobby" part about picking locks? Is there a call for amateur lock pickers?

I'd have to research UK Law... but here in the USA, it's illegal in virtually every state, county or municipality.

I hope someone familiar with UK laws can advise you.

In the hands of those who are NOT in the locksmith trade, they are considered burglery tools in ALL states. You can be arrested for having them in your possession.
