well it began with a boy
who went to this other world where he met a dog
who was a timekeeper
he had a watch inside him
then they got stuck i all these marshy creatures
and there was two sides of this world two kings i think
and then they went to this witch
so they have to unite
the world
and then at the end
there is the monster of persuassion
and he sort of put you in a trance
where you would do anything for him

I agree with Daniel, This is The Phantom Tollbooth.
There was a "Spelling Bee", a king of Letters(Azaz) and a king of Numbers (Mathmagician). The dog with the watch was a watchdog was named Tock (but he only went tick). And it wasn't a witch it was a WHICH. great book, cute movie.

Butch Patrick - Milo
Mel Blanc - Officer Short Shrift, The Word Speller, The Dodecahedron, The Demon of Insincerity
Daws Butler - Whether Man
Candy Candido - Awful DYNNE
Hans Conried - King Azaz, The Mathemagician
June Foray - Ralph, Reason
Patti Gilbert - Princess of Pure Reason, Princess of Sweet Rhyme
Shepard Menken - Tock the Watchdog, Chroma the Great
Cliff Norton - Spelling Bee, Senses Taker
Larry Thor - Kakofonous A. Dischord
Les Tremayne - Humbug

Are you sure it was Dr Seuss? The reference to the dog with a watch sounds like The Phantom Tollbooth.
