Hi....

it's not possible to ALWAYS be supportive.... or positive, either.

It's a wonderful thing to be supportive of others... when we have the will and the energy to do so... it's important to take care of YOU as well as being supportive and a friend to others. So, i would say there is a balance of time you might want to give to others, and time to take for yourself.

As far as being positive, what i started doing was to think before i reacted or made comments. I usually count to 20 in my mind before i say anything, especially if it's a touchy situation or there is negativity involved. This way, i can make a conscious choice to keep my mouth shut or try to say something helpful or positive.

Sometimes you don't have to say anything, just a hug is enough. It really depends on your situation though because no-one can really give you advice if we don't know what you're talking about. People will only take a guess & assume they know what you're talking about which might lead your question not being answered.
