When i go to sky interactive it says that there is technical fault any ideas on how to fix this?

Don't just switch it off, disconect it completely from the mains by pulling the plug out, take out the viewing card, wipe it with a clean dry cloth, replace it then plug the unit back in.

It will take 30 secs to search for all the channels again.

Worth a try before you get on the phone, tell them your going to end your contract and go to Virgin media because you can't afford a repair and they'll give you a box free.
I guarentee you'll get a free engineer call out, they can't afford to lose the business and especially to Virgin.

Problem with your telephone connection to the Sky box perhaps.

Start by switching everything off for a few minutes, then back on. This somethimes gets things going again.
