You know those stupid community newspapers that are so bad they forcefully give them to you by tossing them on your yard? Isn't that littering? Why can they do this? I'm fed up with it!

I don't have lots of spare time, which is what fueled this question. They threw one out when it was pouring outside. I came home and drove right over it, making the bag burst and the sludge splurt everywhere. Now I have to clean it. It's disgusting.

Some people like those "community shopper" newspapers that are thrown on your yard because they contain local news and have cents off coupons in them. Others, like you, do not like them.

If you don't like receiving the newspapers, complain to the company that produces it and to the delivery person. My wife did, and we no longer receive delivery of that publication.

Be nice to the delivery person. They are just poor people trying to earn a living. Treat them with respect.

It's a local paper, with local advertisers.

Start by finding out who publishes it, and call to complain. That may or may not work.

If not, get together with your neighbors and see who else feels the same way, and discuss options.

A couple that come to mind is that you could all collect the newspapers, and once a week drive them to the home of the publisher and dump them in his yard. Or you could make a list of the advertisers, and dump them in their stores. Figure out when the paper gets delivered, and try to have a cop at your house when the paper is thrown in the yard, and demand the carrier be arrested for littering.

It's not and in the UK it's is classed as illegal littering (small fine of around £50) unless they have put it in a secure location, ie a letterbox.

If that is all you have to worry about in life then you have a lot of spare time.

Just pick it up and throw it away. There are more important issues to worry about in life.
