This has not happened yet.
This will happen after Armageddon,. Locking up Satan and his demons for a thousand years will allow men to be free of evil influence and grow to perfection again. God's original plan.
We see so much eveil in the world today, it is plain that Satan is still around.
(Revelation 12:12) On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”

Note also that after the thousand years, Satan will be let loose for a while, to test the people who have had a thousand years of no death and no sickness. Rev. 21;4
(Revelation 20:3) And he hurled him into the abyss and shut [it] and sealed [it] over him, that he might not mislead the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After these things he must be let loose for a little while.

Some people believe that Satan has been amongst us since the beginning of man (garden of Eden), and perhaps a "resident" of Earth even before that. Some believe that his influence has been present throughout the history of humanity: evidence of this is all around us in the evil that mankind has inflicted upon one another and upon the very grounds on which we walk (destroying the Earthly home He has given us to live upon.) What is hard for me to understand is WHY did God put mankind and Satan into the same habitat, to live together? Was it a test of the strength of His creations?

Your reading from Revalations, so it hasn't happened yet. Your talking about the future. When Christ comes back, he will bound satan for a thousand years(thousand years of peace), then let him loose again. Then the final judgement will happen and satan will be thrown into the lake of fire.

Since he was kicked out of heaven he never left us man kind. His only desire is to make us do his bidding no matter how hedious it is. You want example, its all around you. We humans are in denial of our Own creator and we play GOD our selves. Pitiful Humans we have become. Yet every day GOD calls to us, and tells us to remember the promise we made to him before we were born on earth. Do... we.... remember?

All people were believers until after Prophet Idris. The devil whispered to people to worship idols and they did. Then Prophet Noah was the first Prophet calling to non-believers to believe.

Satan returned in the same way that santa claus returns every year. Of course if you believe that jesus was some sort of god, then I suppose one good fantasy deserves another.

Satan doesn't exist. Satan is stolen from the deity "Pan" in older pagan religions..Christians made it up to scare others into Christianity. If you don't believe me...it's historically documented.
