it's your life and these are your decisions to make.

i haven't spoken to my father in 17 years because of the abuse i suffered at his hands all of my life. i finally had enough. for me, it was one of the best things i could do... my emotional health was suffering.

take care of YOU... do what you feel is best for yourself.

I don't know the circumstances as to why you are calling you parents crazy losers but I do have a question. At what age did you decide your parents never took care of you and that they were crazy losers?

Just keep in mind there is a whole lot of unjustified parental and anti-family disrespect going on out in this world. Are you aware that peer pressure is real?

I'll tell you this, you don't know what you are talking about unless you are a parent, We all find this out, it usually goes like this: You think you know more than your parents, then you become a parent, then you have to squeeze what you know about life into the same kind of head, that you had as a teenager, GOOD LUCK with THAT !.......and the band played on !

Depends on what they did that was so "horrible". They gave you life, you should as least be respectful you can't replace a good mom or dad. Now if they are neglectful, abusive,. drug users, then yes it's healthier for you in the long run to stay away, but you should still call them. Now if you're saying that because you are grounded or didn't get your way then, grow up. =)

I have issues with my mother and I'm 29, however I could never disown her. You only get one mother. I would just keep my distance if the situation was too bad. I guess it depends on what you are really talking about.

You've witnessed first hand of what they're capable of doing. Sometimes it's best to cut ties and move on.
