I know humans cant catch FIV or feline AID's but can cats catch the human kind?

No, a cat cannot catch HIV.

The diseases are similar (retroviruses) but they are species specific, meaning a cat can only become infected with the feline version and a human can only be infected with the human version.

Hope this eases your concerns.

No, people can NOT catch FIV, it's a feline disease only. (FIV = Feline Immuno Virus)

Just like HIV is a human/primate disease only. (HIV = Human Immuno Virus)

Yes, they're diseases in the same family, but they're not the same--research on one can't help with research on the other for instance--and they can't transfer from human to cat or cat to human.

AIDS is a human thing, the end stages of HIV. Cat's don't get AIDS either. Their end stage is called 'Stage 4' or just end stage.

Just like we can't catch FIV, cats can't catch HIV. The human immunodeficiency virus only targets humans, which "evolved" from the primate immunodeficiency virus (such as SIV). The retrovirus is species-specific - I believe the virus protein must be able to bind the the "host" protein.
Also, there is now an FIV vaccination available in australia (fel-o-vax).
Hope this helps!
