im not sure but u should wash ur hair every other day so that your scalp does not lose its naural oil.Read this:

Shampoo your hair every alternate day. Some beauticians recommend shampooing your hair everyday, but this must only be done with a very mild shampoo as you could dry out your hair. However, don?t let your hair get really dirty before you shampoo it, as this could cause your hair to fall. Shampooing it every alternate day or at the most, after every two days, should do the trick. Take a clue from the climate you live in. Ask yourself these questions:
- Is the climate humid?
- Do I exercise and workout a lot? This leads to a sweaty scalp.?
- Is the atmosphere in my city polluted?
- If your answer to any of these questions is a yes, you need to shampoo more often.?

I have heard that use of shampoos with sulfates can damage the hair follicle, but that's a controversial "theory". Some experts say the sulfate (used for sudsing) amounts are negligible. I switched to Burt's Bees after reading that though :c) But, I am 39 (female) and still have plenty of hair lol. The only hair loss I noticed was from my Hashimoto's Thyroiditis being untreated.

No that is not at all true (or it shouldn't be), it is not good to wash your hair everyday though. Might I suggest washing it every 2-4 days. I don't know what race you are but I know for a lot of African Americans washing our hair daily does not help it damages our hair. Hair makes naturals oils needed for growth, and washing it daily interrupts that. For African Americans we rarely get lice because we usually have our hair in braids and we wash it every 2-4 days. Lice and things like that love clean hair. If you must wash your hair daily then make sure you use an excellent conditioner or grease.

not quite, it can bleach the natural oils from your hair that you need in order to keep your hair healthy and clean. sometimes you can fix it with covering your head with a leave in conditioner or even natural oil. best is to wash your hair daily if you want to on a regular basis, and occasionally skip a day. also, it's important to change shampoo half way through the year for the next primary season.
