When we take the verses in the bible concerning, "the four corners of the world", "the foundation of earth", "the moon giving off her own light", "Jesus seeing all kingdoms of the earth", "earth being a stationary object" and etc., into consideration, it raises a striking similarity among them. Back in the past when science wasn't as advanced, these verses would indeed make sense and sound noncontradictory. If any ordinary person living in the past wrote a story of earth, it would make perfect sense if they described earth as flat and sationary; the moon indeed appears to send off its own light. Isn't it such a coincidence that the earth is described in the bible in such a way that the earth appears to be to the naked eye? If the bible is the truth, don't you think it should've described the earth and universe as we now know it is?
---This simply implies that the bible was made up by man according to how they saw earth with their naked eyes; that would indeed explain it all.

Much of the Bible WAS written in the way that its writers perceived the world. And it is chock-full of inaccuracies and contradictions. BUT -- in many areas, the hand of God clearly was at work in guiding their writings. The Bible Codes make that very clear, as do the 100% accuracies of the prophecies it contains, many of which have been fulfilled, and could not have been self-fulfilling.

BOTTOM LINE: God gets his point across in it very well, as needed, despite the humanly-included inaccuracies.

Yes they are indeed made up by men who were inspired by God's Spirit as they wrote and they all seem to be writing about that One same Person - Jesus, the Messiah; covering many centuries - It's simply Amazing how they are can tied in all the fact into one single theme without knowing the others exists ! Amazing indeed !

You're probably right. I have to point out though that the phrasing isn't that important because for it to be credible they had to use the language of the times. We still talk of four corners, not refering t actual corners but to cardinal points on the compass. Oh and the we isn't just christians but people in general. I think the argument against the 'truth of the bible' lies more in the historical errors as well as the large differences btn the God of the Old and New Testament. Also another good point to consider is that the bible in it's present form was chosen by a Pope and his minions. Everything other book was ordered destroyed. Also it might be reasonable to mention that these sort of flaws actually exist in all religions and aren't confined to Christianity.

I don't think anyone doesn't know that the book was written by man-the books of the Bible prove it-they were named after the people who wrote them...the true anomalies are in the translation of it-I don't think it has ever been translated correctly and of course the translators back in the 14th and 15th centuries added their own take on things as well. However, as much as we know about the Bible being wrongly translated, we can't deny that there is scientific proof that alot of those kingdoms existed and Jesus and alot of other folks in the Bible really existed-so don't knock the history within the Bible-just the translation and the sexist, close minded people who added and ommited things to suit them way back then....

Interesting point... I have to say I agree. The bible was written by man as they saw the world a long, long, time ago. It addressed issues and concerns they had long ago that we can now prove because of science. For example, long ago a thunder storm would have meant the gods were angry. Now we know the science behind it. But that still doesn't mean the bible is a bad thing to follow. Tolerance, forgiving and kindness are great concepts for people to follow as long as they really follow them and don't "fake" follow them.

well all the books were mad by man
the Torah and the Koran too
but if you are not Christian i am interested to know what you are
you really think that a Christian person will answer
you know what you are right
this question is pointless
and stupid
and offending
i am an unreligious person but i understand thas Religion is all about believeing, you cant prove it you can believe in it.
thats why there is no contradiction between Science and Religion. you can believe in god and prove evolution and still it would not contradict!

Here's just a few reasons why it wasn't written by man.
Let me just give you some prophecies that were given in the bible about scientifc facts we know today, long before those facts were known(all 66 books in the bible were written between 2000 & 4000 years ago).
1)The earth floats free in space(Job 26:7)---Job was written 4000 years ago. No one knew this fact 4000 years ago.
2)Creation is made of particle, indiscernible to our eyes(atoms, molecules, electrons,.......)(Hebrews 11:3)--- Not until the 19th century was that known.
3)There are mountains on the bottom of the ocean(Jonah 2:5,6)---This was discovered in the last century.
4)Blood is the source of life and health(Leviticus 17:11,14)---Up until 120 years ago, sick people were "bled" and many died as a result(e.g. George Washington). Today we know that healthy blood is necessary to bring life giving nutrients to every cell in the body. God declared that "the life of the flesh is in the blood" long before science understood it's function.
5)Our bodies are made of the dust of the ground(Genesis 2:7;3:19)----Scientists have discovered that the human body is comprised of 28 trace elements, all of which are found in the earth.
6) The universe had a beginning(Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 1:10-12)---Starting with the studies of Albert Einstein in the early 1900's, science has confirmed the biblical view that the universe had a beginning. When the bible was written most people believed that the universe was eternal. Science has proven them wrong but the bible was correct.
7) The earth is a sphere(Isaiah 40:22)---At the time when many thought the earth was flat, the bible told us that the earth is spherical. Incidently, for those who call christians 'flat earthers', that verse is 2700 years
old.
8)Scripture assumes a revolving spherical earth(Luke 17:34-36)----Jesus said that at his return some would be asleep at night while others would be working at daytime activities in the field. This is a clear indication of a revolving earth with day and night occurring simultaneously.
9)Light can be divided(Job 38:24)---Sir Isaac Newton studied light and discovered that white light is made of 7 colors, which can be parted and then recombined. Science confirmed this 400 years ago, The Bible declared this 4000 years ago.
10)The continents were created as one large land mass(Genesis 1:9,10)---Many geologists agree that the earth was originally one super continent.
11)Hydrological cycle described(Job 36:27,28)---About4000 years ago the bible declared that God "draws up drops of water which distills as rain from the mist which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man". The ancients observed mighty rivers flowing into the ocean, but they could not conceive why the sea level never rose.. Though they observed rainfall they had only quaint theories as to it's origin. Meteorologists now understand that the hydrological cycle consists of evaporation, atmospheric transportation, distillation and precipitation.
12)Circumcision on the 8th day is ideal(Genesis 17:12)---Medical science has discovered that the blood clotting chemical Prothrombin peaks in a newborn on the 8th day. This is therefore, the safest day to circumcise a baby. If you do it before that he'll bleed to death. How did Moses know that?
13)The universe is expanding(Job9:8,Isaiah42:5,Je... 51:15,Zechariah12:1 and other verses)---Seventeen times in the Old Testament it says that "God is stretching the heavens". During the 20th century most scientists(including Einstein) believed the universe was static. Others believed it should have collapsed due to gravity. Then in 1929 astronomer Edwin Hubble showed distant galaxies were receding from the earth and the further away they were, the faster they were moving. This discovery revolutionized the field of astronomy. Einstein admitted his mistake and today most astronomers agree with what the creator told us thousands of years ago--the universe is expanding.
14)Light travels in a path(Job 38:19)--- Light is said to have a "way"{Hebrew:derek, literally a traveled path or road]. Until the 17th century it was believed that light was transmitted instantaneously. We now know that light is a form of energy that travel at 186,000 miles per second in a straight line. Indeed, there is a way of light.
15)Air has weight(Job 28:25)--- It was once thought that air was weightless. Yet 4000 years ago Job declared that God established "a weight for the wind".
16)Ocean currents anticipated(Psalms 8:8)----About 3000 years ago the bible describles the "paths of the sea". In the 19th century Mathew Maury...the father of oceanography, after reading Psalms chapter 8, researched and discovered ocean currents that follow specific paths through the seas.
Most of those verses are taken from the Old Testament. Although God is speaking to all people in His Word, those prophets were speaking immediately to their own people during their life time. If God was speaking to a certain people about the end times and he was going to talk about a tank, the prophet wouldn't use the word tank. They wouldn't know what he was talking about. The prophet would use language the people of that day would understand. Anyhow, that language that you mentioned is not unscientific. Scientists today use the words "4 corners" and "giving off light". They are figures of speech. Jesus "seeing the kingdoms" just means that satan showed Him a vision. The Earth does have a "foundation". It's the earths core.
The bible was written by men as a secretary writes for Stephan Hawking. The secretary may physically do the writing but the thoughts come from Hawking. No man in his right mind, who wanted to start a religion would describe God as a Trinity where you have one God and 3 persons in that one Godhead. No man would say that one of those persons in the Godhead took on a human body and came to earth and died on a cross for everyones sins. Those concepts are unique to christianity. If I was going to make up my own religion, I'm sure it would come out like most of the other religions: Live a good life and you go to heaven. Live a bad life and you go to hell. God just kind of grades on a curve.
Also there is one God or 3 Gods or 330 million gods but not one God and 3 persons in the God head.
Then there is all the prophecy in the bible, namely, 333 prophecies about the 1st coming of Christ and 456 details about His life in the Old Testament. How do you think the christians preached the gospel for the first 20 to 30 years while the New Testament was still in the process of being written.......from the old testament.......His whole life story is there......all written between 400 and 220 years before He was born. Isaiah 53:6(written 700 years before He was born)
says it all. It says "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the sin of us all". If you can't figure out who that is talking about the I know one thing for sure......you don't work at NASA.

The only ones who ever make this comment are those who have never read it. The Bible had 44 different writers but only one author being the Lord Himself.

It not only strikes them but what's more embarrasing is that they still try their best to justify those verses being compatible with scientific facts.

They believe this still...

1. Earth is flat. Because bible says so. (Flat Earth Society)

2. Sun revolves around earth.(Flat Earth Society)

3. Earth is 6000 years old. (Creationists)

4. Earth is 10,000 years old (Creationists)

5. Galaxies don't exist. (Flat Earth Society)

6. Americans never landed on the moon. (Flat Earth Society)

If Christians thought the Bible was made up by man they would not be Christians.
