Yo Pit-lady. In the history of mc-ing to say Tupac is the best is like saying Vin Diesal is a better actor than Deniro. The body of work ain't up to par. I know people may like the guy but mc skills? Pac was wack.

Sorry to disagree PitLady but Tupac was not the Gangsta he tried to be. Mums was Panther, he had the right path but decided to be thug fake wannabe studio gang persona to sell sell sell. As far as i'm concerned that makes him pop hop or RAP/Urban. True hip hop don't play no mind to Puffy style simple lyrics & commercial beats that he had. And yeah i am aware of his poetry book too lol!!!! Try listening to GZA Liquid Swords album to understand what hip hop is..............

From that list I would go with either of the Wu representatives.
I also think some of the other clan members should have been included: GZA, Inspectah Deck

*edit* Pitbull Lover - Me and Mos Def or Talib Kweli would crush you and big lips in a battle

I feel that this is a very difficult question to answer!
Purley down to the fact that what I like you may not, the best is all down to personal opinion. Its just the way we work.

IMHO Christopher Wallace The Notorious B.I.G. is the greatest rapper ever to bless the mic.

But im sure this question will have everyone agreeing that It certainly isnt MIMMS!!!!!!!!!!

If I was going to battle I would want Jay-Z on my team, cause he would crush in that format, but as far as the greatest I'm gonna have to go with the no brainer and say TuPac!
