I have recently posted about a water issue in my apartment that has messed up my very expensive washer. I didn't know if it was covered but I talked to the manager and asked what he was going to do about my washer and he said he is not responsible (which is correct, I found it on my lease) and offered to have a maintnance guy look at it and I said no way is one of your workers messing with my washer so don't even think about it. Today I come it to see a note "Washer and dryer ok" so I was a bit mad about it because they were not cheap and I specifically told him not to have one of his guys touch it. I know all he did was turn it on because then he would know it's not working properly. Don't get me wrong, it turns on BUT it gives an error (led display) and as of now I have clothes in my washer that I can't get out because the water level is too high. Anyways, my question is should I say something to the manager since he obviously disregarded what I said.

The only reason I am hesitant is because I don't want him to send a guy over again and do more than just turn it on.

They didn't charge me for anything they just simple turned it on said it was fine and left a note about what they came in do. The only reason I am mad is because I was getting on the manager the other day about all this crap and told him not to send anyone in my apartment to look or even touch my washer.

If I were you, I would check my lease. The landlord doesn't have the right to come into your unit without your permission unless there's a dire emergency.
He has to give you a notification first, usually in writing 24 hours in advance, like I stated, unless it's an emergency so, going with that I would ask him what the heck he's doing in your unit. This is considered a private home by the way, he cannot just come in like that, especially his men.
Had you been in the shower, in bed, or, what then, this is for your protection and privacy. I definitely would say something to him.

Since the landlord asked them to check out the washer and fix it and, you didn't and didn't ask him, I would give him the bill.

A apartment maintnance man is not a appliance repair man to start with..They have no right messing with your personal belongings and this is beyond "thier scope of duties"..Also without your permission this is totally illegal..They don't have an authorized "work order" filled out by you and really had no reason to be in your apartment without a 24 hour notice unless it was an emergency..If your appliances were not authorized to work on you owe nothing at all..They cannot do this...I would suggest that the manager is not the owner of this complex and is scamming you and splitting some money with the hourly worker..They have no license for a repair buisness.. Take pictures of the water standing, because even if they were authorized(which we know they werent) it appears it wasn't fixed anyway....You can actually file charges on them for this if they want to get real nasty... Send a certified letter to them refusing to pay, and state it was an unauthorized entry to begin with, and they were not told to repair it to begin with, plus the fact it wasnt repaired ...Send dual copies of this registered letter to the manager, and then one to the actual apartment owners..and at the bottom in notation put another copy was sent to the local judge/constable etc...They have no written work order to do this...Did they actually leave a statement of charges with you? Or just scribble out a a hand written bill? Anyway...I would not pay them at all..and once this registered letter is sent stating that you refuse to pay and it wasnt authorized to do..you have a copy of it for future use in case they try some crap like trying to evict you...It is against the law for a landlord to evict you in retaliation for a properly submitted complaint ...You can also search on the internet "landlord/tenants rights" for the state of bla bla bla....and it will also state that they have to give a notice to enter your apartment for non emergency, or unapproved situations

I wouldn't worry a lot about the land lord trying to help you out, however I would mention to him that I speciffically said not to send one of your guys overand I really don't appreciate it.

What I would do is call the warranty company for the washer. If it has water in it that won't drain out, it isn't because of a water problem where you live.

I think I would just let it go. I can't see how anything good would come of saying anything.

I'm sure he was just trying to be helpful even tho the opposite happened!
