I have heard Microsoft will stop production by the end of the year and mid year for automatic updates

i was reading pc world magazine and they will continue support for 5 more years.

Thats not too far from the truth. The support will stop in a couple of years, but remember there are still people out there happily using windows 98 without any problems!

according to my instructor he said at least 5yrs and thats if they get Vista working right I beta tested for a yr what a nightmare. p.cworld also says 5 or more yrs too
