I have a little daughter she is 3 years and 3 months old. she dosn't speak yet.She says some words but no sentences.I went with her to a specialist and she told me that the probleme is that her brain works faster than her mouthe. Is that posible? I went with her even to a Phsycology and she sais that my daughter will eventually speak.I think she is very smart she understands everything i say ,she eats alone ,sleeps alone, goes to the toilete alone but she dosn't speak .She is using about35-40 words to express herself. The other day i heard her counting to 5 and when she saw i was watching her she stoped and placed her hands on her mouthe. Is it posible that she can already speak but she dosen" want to for some reason i can't understand ?

Of course, its possible tht her brain works faster than her mouth.New-borns can't utter anything, but tht
doesn't mean their brains don't work at all, rite?

I agree, your little one is a bit slow in speaking as compared to other kids, but sum children are like tht.I kno someone who started speaking at the age of five. It's completely normal. Her other activities indicate tht she's quite an intelligent and active girl. Give her time and she will gradually pick up.Her ability to speak 35-40 words indicate tht she has no speech defect.Small kids shying away from expressing their knowledge in front of their parents and other grown-ups is also normal.

Pls stop rushing her to doctors.Your constant worrying and expressing your doubts about her speaking ability (in front of her) may make her think tht she really has sum defect.Don't infuse unwanted feelings into the little one's mind.Being a mother,I understand your tensions, but be positive and patient and things will work out on their own!

Find a new doctor! Now. Their "diagnosises" were ridiculous. A 3 year old should have hundreds of words in their vocabularies. Don't wait, please. This nonsense about "they'll talk when they're ready" is a bunch a hogwash. Early Intervention is absolutely key. Besides, speech therapy is fun! It's all games, not sitting around making her repeat things.

Very possible. Those little guys are very complex. They are going to do things in their own time. I once babysat with a little boy. I had him from the time he was 10 weeks until he was 5 1/2 yrs. old. Same as your daughter. Used only a few words to get his message out but when he really started talking, it was in sentences and very clear speech. Had it all collecting in his head until the time was right, I guess.

Yes it is possible. I think just out of the blue she will start talking and suprise you. My grandson is 3 and a half . He is talking but doesnt have a big vocabulary yet. I think she will be just fine.

She might be a sensitive child and heard someone telling their child to be quiet (like at a grocery store). She might be embarrassed that she could make a mistake.

Don't pressure her. Pretend you don't really notice - like it's not a big deal.

Chances are she will suprise you and just out of the blue start talking in phrases overnight... that's what my oldest did. Or so it seemed anyways. They all develope at their own pace and she will too. I'm sure she can.... try encouraging her to count with you and "accidentally" skip one or something... she'll catch on mom don't worry just yet.

quite possible. There is a thing called selective mutism. Have a look into that and see if it sounds familiar

have patience... sometimes it takes some time to speak for some kids... its a natural process... just wait ... and relax and dont force her to say something as kids get irritated by this and they do the opposite.... just relax....
