Ok, so I'm getting ready to re-enlist in the army. Well at first my fiance wanted to go to Hawaii, so I told my SGTs' and I was still flagged so of course I wouldn't be consider. Recently I meet the army standard and got unflagged, so now I have the choice so before asking me again, they just go ahead and tell me SGM to get me Hawaii. I understand it was bad of me to change my mind, but after all I'm about my family right now. I know the military doesn't give the station of choice, but at this moment it was. Am I wrong to change my mind from hawaii to ft hood. By the way my first sergeant was trying to "convince to choose Hawaii even after I told him my mind was set. I'm trying to do good by my family, why can't he understand that.

Dude just get out. It's not worth it. But if I had to say something I guess it would be that either way your gonna get deployed so it won't matter. I'de just send her back to her parents and collect the BAH.

Ft. Hood Sucks bro!! A big one! Hawaii is great because it is Hawaii. Your fiancee needs to know that you don't just change your mind. If she is going to marry you, she needs to know that it isn't the civilian world where you can just take the day off or call in sick. If you are lucky enough to choose where you want to go, make a choice and stick with it. Your leaders probably pulled some strings to get you what you wanted. It is such a bummer when that soldier "changes his mind" after what you did for him. You will like Hawaii. Trust me. Plus, the BAH is awsome over there. If you do go, try to buy a place and let the BAH pay for it. Real estate isn't really getting any cheaper, and the islands aren't growing anymore land. (except for maybe the big island) Go there and invest!!

If you're re-enlisting, I assume there is a possibility you may make the Army a career. So enjoy a nice duty station and family while you can!

After reading your question three times I still have no idea what you really want, and I don't think you do either.

Figure it out and then ask for it. Best idea is to list first, second and third choices. Good chance you'll get one of them.

What a deal, go and enjoy the island. I was on Guam for 2 years and love that.
