I once told a guy who really liked me to back off because then I just didnt want anything to do with men. Now, I miss him and am thinking of calling him. Am i wrong to do this or should I stick to my words.

Do you miss him, or do you miss him chasing you? Once you come to that conclusion, it's okay to call him but you are going to have to be patient and just present the fact that you were wrong and would like a second chance. He may not be receptive at first, or even at all but you will have to put the ball in his court and see if he returns it or just lets it go.

If he's still single, you could give it a try and apologize for telling him to back off

well... you can call him, but if you do you just lost some credibility. I'd say evaluate the relationship and see if you really want to talk to him. Obviously you want companionship. I'd say evaluate what you want to do and decide.

Depends how harsh the "back off" was.
If you do it though, you ought to mean it.
