I would say Queensland, It really is beautiful and it has year round fantastic weather. Apparently approx 1500 people move to Queensland every single week. So I think that is your answer right there!!!
You can still get good priced properties around the Hervey Bay/Fraser Coast Areas.

As Brisbane is the capital it is quite busy but not as large as Sydney. Gold Coast is fantastic. But you may want to live on the outskirts to get away from 'holiday makers'.

Sunshine Coast is nice, getting busier by the day. But still many areas close by that you can live and travel to and from quickly.

There are so many great places. NSW is a nice place. But Queensland is a lot more relaxed.

I have never been to Canada. But I would rather live in Arizona, instead of Hawaii, cause my bestfriend moved to Arizona.
