Plz do not open your door to evil.
The Lord warns against consulting with mediums and psychics. These practices are considered detestable to the Lord.

31 " 'Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled(corrupted) by them. I am the LORD your God.

Actually, the others are wrong.
The bible records where King Saul was able to talk to his lifetime advisor, the prophet Samuel, who had passed away.
He had banished all soothsayers (mediums) from his kingdom according to God's will. He then snuck out, found a medium and got her to bring up Samuel.
However, before you try this, realize three things:
God forbids talking to the dead.
Samuel was upset that Saul did it.
Saul died because he did it.
God forbids it because you have to go through the devil to get it done. That is the power that mediums harness, whether they realize it or not.
Samuel was upset because it disturbed his rest. Your dad would be upset too, even though it doesn't seem like he should mind. If someone who liked it came forward, it would be a demon posing as your father.
Demons never die. Therefore, they know many things about our world. They know what your dad looked like, sounded like, and they know things that only he could know. So, they can pose as your father quite easily. If you attempt to talk with him, they will answer. They will hope that you believe it is him, so that you will start seeking their advice. They will then try to guide you into evil things. These things will seem good. The bible says that the devil appears as an angel of light.
So, I guess that I am depressing you, because I'm telling you that you can't do it. But, be practical. What would be the reason to talk to him now, instead of later in heaven?
You can't give advice to someone who has already finished their life, and he is not allowed to advise you. So, back and forth communication is not fruitful right now. If you just need to tell him that you love him, or want to hear him tell you that he loves you, it will have to wait. But, you will get your chance. The bible clearly tells us that we will recognize each other in the resurection. Even people we have not seen. For example: when Moses and Elija appeared with Jesus at the transfiguration, Peter recognized them even though he had never met them. And, when David's baby died, he said that he would see him again in the resurection. (Not as a baby, but as an adult, and they would recognize each other).
Please don't get involved in spells. This would really crush your dad to think that you were subjecting yourself to demonic activity for his sake. If he is dead, then he knows the truth about what is ahead for you. And, he will be hoping that you find Christ so that you and he can be together one day.
In the story of Lazarus and the rich man, even someone who had not made it to heaven (the rich man) wanted to come back and warn his family about hell. If you follow Christ while you are here, you will be heading in the eventual direction of a family reunion. If you try a shortcut through demonic ways, you will be heading in exactly the opposite direction.

According to God’s Word, however, the dead are totally unaware of any honor conferred on them. (Job 14:10, 21; Psalm 49:17) The dead are alive only in the memory of those who remember them. The Bible says: “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) The Scriptures do offer the hope of a resurrection that will take place in the future. But until such time, the dead do not exist. They literally become dust.—Genesis 3:19.

and its abomination to the LORD to call spirits.
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch ,
Deuteronomy 18:10
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
Deuteronomy 18:11
For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Deuteronomy 18:12

Don't communicate with the dead. If you try, you will find that there are spiritual beings who will try to impersonate your deceased relatives. They will try to deceive you that they still exist in some form propagating the same lie uttered in Genesis 3 "You will not surely die." But the good news is that your father will be raised to life. Even better news is you can avoid death altogether by accepting the redemptive work of Christ and asking His forgiveness of sins.

It depends on what you want to believe.
If you believe in God's word, the Bible, then you cannot talk with your father..... yet.
The Bible teaches that the dead are dead. They do not exist. One day, the righteous and unrighteous will be resurrected and then you will be able to talk with your dad face to face.
The Bible teaches that all those that are truly "speaking with the dead" are really being fooled by demons. Most of the time though, poeple aren't speaking with anyone. They are just being lyed to and getting ripped off by the person who claims they can talk with dead people.

Spirits to Witch's, Spirits from hell, come and aid me unto my spell. Yes you can call out the dead. But it is not so wise to do. Spirits from hell, who allow you to see of your beloved that are now dead, are generally lazy and wish to not be bothered, conjuring them to do so, sometimes angers them. It is best to leave these spirits and the dead alone.

You can talk to him all you want but he can neither hear you or talk back. Anybody that says that they will communicate with him for you is a fraud out to take your money.
