I live in Los Angeles area. Recently retired and thinking about moving to Ashland, Oregon. I am under Prop 13 and have very low property taxes. How much are property taxes in this area? Say...around a $300,000 home.? And Homeowners Insurance? Thanks for your help.

The amount of property tax levied in Ashland is one of the lowest tax levy amounts of any major city in Jackson County. Ashland’s electric utility users tax helps keep property taxes low.

Ashland’s fixed tax rate is $3.9747 /$1,000 ($1.7069 goes to the general fund, $0.1750 goes to the debt service fund, and $2.0928 goes to the Parks Department).

The above information is straight from the City of Ashland's web page. According to it, taxes on a 300K house would be around $1125.00

Don't know the tax rate for Ashland but I've heard it's rather high because of the area. I live in Roseburg. High here too.
