I remember my mum writing a note for me to get out early one day to watch Scotland V Brazil at the opening game of the world cup in 1998!

No - its not like they learn anything on the last day especially not in the last two hours. They just take in games while the teachers sneak off for a drink in the staff room. Why do you think they break up at two? Probably so the teachers can get a lunchtime special down the pub lol!!

Sounds like a wondefull idea. There is some risk that later in life he will mimmeck your behaiviour but teaching him not to take things too seriously and enjoy a good movie from time to time is worth it.
I would say you deserve a pat on the back and a tomato sandwich.

Well your not a bad Mother probably but this is bad behaviour - lying and not supporting the school.
Do you really think that your son will not blurt out at some point next school year that he went to the cinema on the last day and what sort of position might that put him in?
Shame on you!

No what's done is done and I wouldn't worry anymore about it! I take my hat off for getting away with it I had 2 text messages from my kids school reminding me on that they should both be at school in full uniforms so just to rebel told them they could wear what they want, think that was the kid in me! lol

Well that isnt a good reason to get your son out of school.. but it is the last day and on the last week at school kids just watch DVD's and talk in the classroom anyway so he isnt missing out on anything important.

You are only naughty for lying! The kids don't do much on the last day. If your son sees his mates, you would have to tell him to act like he's been to the dentist, like put a hand on one side of his face as if he had a filling done! Enjoy the film and have fun!

It seems to me that by questioning your actions means that you already think you did something wrong.
I don't think him missing school was the bad part, but that sending a "dentist" note promotes dishonesty. I'm sure there is a way to call or meet with the teacher to let them know your son would miss the day without using dishonesty, or at least without your son knowing you used dishonesty.
I don't think it's my place to pelt you with rotten tomatoes; but maybe you should explain to your son how the dishonesty was wrong, and let him pelt you with tomatoes.
