European SUV's are so much better than american ones. They are better engineered and have better quality plastics and leathers used in their interiors. Americans are all about marketing, what looks good on paper does not really translate in real life. European SUV's will last longer and have higher resale value and better mileage and performance than american ones.

The range rover is obviously the best out there, it has been so for decades. Don't get the sport version, it may be cheaper but it's got stiffer suspension which means it's not as comfortable and also, on the inside it's not as roomy as the vougue which is the complete package. The touareg can compete in perfromance to the Range Rover both on and off road. The mercedes M class is good but not as luxurious as the Range. The x5 is good, but do not take it off road because it's not really meant for that.\

Another advantage of the european SUV's is that they are safer and don't roll over as easily as the larger, heavier underengineered american SUV's.

If it's in your budget get the Range or the M class.

Land Rover is set to go out of business within the next few years, and although they are owned by Ford they are very hard to get parts for and repairs are costly.

I would go with a BMW X5 or a Mercedes ML class.

WELL MANY MOON AGO I USED TO WORK AT A PART DISTRIBUTION CENTER. AS FAR AS THE ROVERS GO THE BAD THING ABOUT THEM IS THAT WHEN THEY DO BREAK DOWN THE PARTS TEND TO BE VERY EXPENSIVE SINCE THEY ARE HARDER TO FIND. OF COURSE IF YOU HAVE THE WARRANTY NO REAL WORRY. ROVERS ARE NICE CARS BUT THEY DO HAVE PROBLEMS . THEN AGAIN SO DO ALL CARS

SUV's are very low on gas mileage. If you like to travel alot, travel far, or don't have a fairly good paying job, they will be unaffordable.

Don't buy one. You don't need a gas guzzling over sized piece of crap. If your smart you'll get a Honda Civic.

Buy American...the other two are eurotrash vehicles...the Toureg was voted one of the least green vehicles...the rover is moving repair bill....
