The difference between a terrier and a yorkshire terrier is the same as the difference between a regular pudding and a yorkshire pudding. More bread, and less ringworm.

They can be very stubborn. Also very possessive over their owners. They are known to bark alot & are one of the most difficult dogs to housebreak. Most are never completely housebroke. All of my Yorkies are very sweet & demand attention. They are always very picky eaters. I tried 3 or 4 different doggie treats before I found one they like. They also have that big dog attitude which can cause serious problems if your not careful. You can research this breed on akc.org for more information.

My friend has one. All the yorkies I've known are very attached to their owners and like being lap dogs. They are perfectly happy just being with you. The one my friend owns never makes a sound! She is always quiet and timid. She also does exactly what she is told and won't enter the kitchen because she has been trained not to. All dogs have different personalities so not all yorkies are like this. They aren't all "yappy" dogs. Yappy dogs are like that because they weren't trained not to yap.

I have two Yorkies and love em'. Will get another one in the future. I have a doggie door and they were house trained in about 2 days. Yes they bark, but that makes them terrific watch dogs. I never worry about being home alone. Very loving and love to be at your feet or on the chair/couch next to you. I love Yorkies. Sweet and give kisses.

my friend has one, they're pretty feisty and full of energy. all over the place. every time i go over there, it's bouncing and jumping all over people, but seeing as it's small it doesn't really bother anyone. it can get out of hand sometimes, but if you show some control they usually fall in line. this is only a casual occurrence, i don;t live with one. they might be way different when company is not around. hopefully this helps with both sides.

I have one. Almost NEVER barks (very rarely, and it's actually funny to hear her bark.) I cannot believe people say that these dogs bark a lot. Maybe I'm just lucky.
Very sweet personality. Wants to be friends and play with everybody (people and dogs.)
GREAT LITTLE DOGS and they do not shed!

They are very loving dogs even though I hear it's not good to have young children around them. Even though the it is small, it thinks it is bigger than it really is. Also, they love attention and love.
