Throughout the Bible the Lord has promised His saints untold knowledge and power. and yet I see too many Christians who refuse to seek anything outside the Bible. Heck, most settle for a cursory understanding of the Bible.

We have been told to ask for wisdom and anything we desire. So why are people so relunctant to accept more of what the Lord has for them?

Wow. I don't even know what to say...the arrogance of the other answers astounds me. For anyone to think that they are right and know what's going on regarding God is ridiculous. I'm not a Bible-thumper by any means, but doesn't this sound like the Pharisees, etcetera? The people who think they know the most are the most blind? How can anyone here even be posting, pretending to know so much? It's possible to know about historical texts, or whatever, but to act like they know the will of God? Those people are delusional! In answer to your question, though, I have no idea why people don't ask for more. I ask for the things I want all the time.

I have studied intensly historical evidence, books, talked with PHD's in theology, searched and found so much evidence of Christ, that there is nothing I am lacking in wisdom.

Don't know why you feel Christians are, I surely am not.

well, they thrive in arrogance and ignorance. they can claim they are Christians for as much and as long as they like, but they are merely protestants, protesting against the Church.

All we can do is look to God. If God wants us to guide people to "other knowledge" then He will.
