Is it possible to install a gas line to the area where the new gas stove will go? Who do I contact to have the work done?

It is done by a plumber, usually, and can be fairly easy or a major headache depending on how your house is built. I have pier and beam and when we redid the kitchen, gas was on one side of it and we wanted ovens and stove on the other side (and move water heater to utility) so it was a case of hanging black iron pipe from the joists, making the connections and testing everything for leaks.
On the other hand, if you have a slab foundation or are on the upper floor of a multifloor building the cutting and chopping needed to get the piping (depending on code allowing flexible pipe) can get destructive and expensive.
The relative cost of gas and electricity depends on location.
