It was God who raised up William Wilberforce in England and the abolitionists in the US.
How can you say He didn't do anything?
It was Christians - true Christians, and God's people that brought an end to slavery.
It certainly wasn't the secularists.

Have you not heard? God helps those who help themselves. The Israelites wanted their freedom. In Africa is a different mentality and so even now there is slavery in Africa. The slave traders didn't enslave the people of Africa, they enslaved themselves and still do. This is in no way meant to say we had a right to take advantage of their culture, only to say that is why Africa was chosen to import slaves from and not Europe or elsewhere. In China we also took advantage of the slave market for prostitution with very young children, but at the time it was part of China's culture. Again it is no excuse for taking advantage of people, only that the opportunity was available because it was already being practiced.

He most certainly did help the Africans- if you know your history, you would know that many folks stood against slavery in the the US. Abe Lincoln and many other Christian folks were against slavery during the Civil war, and it was one of the issues that the Civil War was fought around. God often uses men like Lincoln to help those who are being unjustly treated. We often think He should do some 'instant' miracle, but God doesn't generally work that way. He had a covenant specifically with the children of Israel, which is why He chose to work miraculously. Since He had no covenant with the African people, He chose to use Christians and other good people to help them during their time of need.

Because Moses' God is just a Jewish deity and is not a true creator of human race and he doesn't really care about slavery. Moses' God free the Israelites from slavery but he encourages them to have slaves, The bible states "If you need slaves, you may buy them from other nations, you may also buy the children of the foreigners who are living among you, such children born in your land may become your property, and you may leave them as inheritance to your sons, whom they must serve as long as they live. But you must not treat any of your fellow-Israelites harshly" (Leviticus 25:44-46). In other words, Moses' God doesn't care about slavery of other races and slavery is alright as long as its not Israelites that wre being enslaved.

It was not a religious issue and what happened to African-Americans was appalling but cannot be reversed. Investments into housing, literacy campaigns, better job opportunities and anti-racism campaigns would help.
