I've had this sweating problem for a long time now. It's so bad that even after using antiperspirant, I would still have HUGE sweat stains on my shirts (in both hot and cold climates). It's really embarrassing!

I was so excited because I tried Certain-Dri and it worked...for about a month. One day it just stopped working and I don't know why. It hasn't worked since.

Before I make a trip to the doctor, does anyone have ANY suggestions of what could possibly help my problem? I've also tried Secret, Secret Clinical Strength, Teen Spirit, and Speed Stick.

Thanks so much! =)

I know exactly the medical term you're suffering from, it's hyperhidrosis. You have axillary hyperhidrosis which involves excessive sweating of the armpits.

I'm affraid to inform you that there is no cure for this problem. Although there are many alternative treatments. (ETS surgery is not a cure).

I would advise you to try products such as Drysol, Megadry, or Maxim. These are only temporary and cost a lot.

There are other alternative treatments such as iontophoresis or botox. These treatments are the most prefered over ETS surgery. ETS is a risky surgery involving the destruction of specific levels on the sympathetic nerve. Research should be done before going through with this surgery because ETS surgeons sometimes hide things from their patients such as risks.

Here is a great site to a list of alternative treatments for hyperhidrosis:

Since you're going to see the doctor anyways (which is a good idea), I would suggest you see a dermatologist. They specialize in conditions such as hyperhidrosis and can help you out more than any other doctor. Try to find a good dermatologist.

My other recommendation is to research the Internet about this condition. You are not alone.

Hope this helps.
Good luck!

I know men in their 50's have that problems sometimes. Also, it can be a symptom of diabetes. Check it out.
