Okay I've never really been the church type of girl, my family never really went, but about a year ago my mom and family started going and I never really went with them. Then one sunday I decided to go and when I left I just felt safe and proud for some reason. and this week my little 5 year old brother has vacation bible school and I really wanted to go and help out. So today I went and volenteered to stay and help with all the activity's the little kids are doing. and it's for the rest of the weel and I'm going to keep going and helping out because it really makes you feel good inside. But I've kinda always been iffy about the whole god theory. I want to believe so bad but I'm a very logical person and it doens't really make sense. Like how come some people say oh yeah god was with me thats why I lived or whatever but half the time people get murdered and die and stuff but why doesn't god help them too? I just wanted to know if it was weird that I felt this way and could someone.....

Because I really want to believe more then I do now!

If you want to worship a heinous Jesus-God who drowned, tortured, and slaughtered millions (more than Hitler), conspired to have his own self/kid brutally beaten and executed, and repeatedly commanded his followers to hurt and kill thousands of other people, then go for it. However, none of that stuff is 'good', 'moral', or 'loving', so please don't expect anyone with morals to join you.

At least read the entire Bible, so you know what you're REALLY getting yourself into. It's got more violence and smut in it than any other publication ever produced - enjoy!

it is wonderful to hear someone ask really good questions about God and the relationship that He desires us to have with Him. If you look at God through the eyes of logic as you say, He does not make sense- because who would give the life of their son for the whole world- but that is what He did. Faith does not always make sense, however once you take that first step of faith, you will not be sorry. What is that first step you have to take?
Go to church, be good? NO NO NO - there is nothing we can do to acquire eternal life and a personal relationship with Him, what you have to do is this
1- admit that you are a sinner- I had to do that too, so I am not pointing fingers here
2- confess your sin, and repent- which means turn from them
3- accept Christ as full payment for your sin.= and believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again you will be saved

this is the only way to start your relationship with God. YOu are right peope still die , however God is very much alive, and if you reach out to him in the name of Jesus, He will be more real to you, than any logic in the world. Trust me, I have been there===

I just had a long answer typed out for you , and lost it all . I hate that . But here goes again, let me first say that a person posted saying that God had killed more people than Hitler and that no one with morals would believe in God. Well I have morals and values , and I believe in God. My Father was a pastor, not a very good one , But none the less he was. But it was My Mother that took us to church every Sunday. sometime it was kicking and screaming, But we still had to go. I thought gosh, when I leave home, I won't have to go. I stopped for awhile , and then my heart felt very heavy, I started going back after years of not going, And I am like you, It made me feel so much better about myself. So I continue to go.It is when at times I would have these feelings that I know I was under God's conviction . Meaning he was putting it in my heart , that I needed to go back to church. I think that maybe you are also under God's conviction . and he is letting you know that you are doing what he wants you to do. And the more you go , the more you will learn. Try praying for God to point you in the right direction to find the answer you need. I will be praying for you . I am so glad that you are helping with the children . You will be Blessed .

I believe what you are feeling is the bond of being around others and helping out because you want to not because God has put it into your head. There is the age old debate of God and did/does he exist, why does this happen but not this. I would suggest doing some reading not from the Bible but from other religions and views of other religions such as Gnosticism, Judaism, Islam, Budhaism, including Paganism. You will find that many of today's religious ceremonies are based on Pagan Rituals and make your own decision as to what you believe in. Don't believe in just one religious view point because if one religion was right for everyone than there wouldn't have been the Crusades or war today. Belief is more a spirtiual thing than an actual person or event. Also go and talk to different religious leaders to see their views on their religion as well as other religions.

It is not wierd that you feel that way. you are coming into this on your own and you are questioning it just like anything else in life that will happen. There is nothing wrong with that. The thing is that you said yourself that you are a logical person. Believing in God is just that, believing in God. It is a step of blind faith because you can't see or physically touch what you are trusting. So it is fine to have feelings like that. It is in peoples' nature to question what they don't understand and nobody understands completely about God or the Bible. Some people claim they do but the only ones that really know if there are any out there, wouldn't say anything because not everyone is ready at this moment to understand anymore than they do right now. I hope this helped and you can message me if you want to talk any more about it. I would be more than happy to talk to you about it.

There is a internal battle between religion and Spirituality. There is a higher spiritual being who we spiritually connect with. But because the Church in American supports a Doctrine which leads Americans among a certain path because they want us to think like this or act like this. The Government only allows certain religions to teach the scriptures of like10 religions? Why is that??? And because I have a BIG DOUBT Sign plastered on my forehead. And So how can a country who still inbreds racism be such a Christian State. And Sm may people may disagree what I am saying because of the Brainwashing of the Christian State which has controlled so many of us. GOD lives in your being and that is not something a church can give you until they seperate from the old ways of the relegious left

If you want to try to believe that Invisible Sky Critters exist, goodonya.

You'd be better off grabbing a nice security blanket and using it to ward off evil.
The Invisible Sky Critter stories are for the gullible so that parasites can scam money from them.

Wake up and do some reading.
Try reading some stuff by Robert G. Ingersoll one of the most famous USian Atheists who said:
In all ages hypocrites, called priests, have put crowns on the heads of thieves, called kings.
and
No man with a sense of humour ever founded a religion.
and
Is there an intelligent man or woman now in the world who believes in the Garden of Eden story? If you find any man who believes it, strike his forehead and you will hear an echo. Something is for rent.
and finally
It is told that the great Angelo, in decorating a church, painted some angels wearing sandals. A cardinal looking at the picture said to the artist: "Whoever saw angels with sandals?" Angelo answered with another question: "Whoever saw an angel barefooted?"

No ...you are using common sense and that's good....people always think that God is suppose to be with everyone whether they are saved and serving God...and they have never stepped foot in a church, and the only time Gods name was mentioned is in a cuss word....but yet when they get in trouble they start calling for God...and unless that person is saved and a child of God...God want hear you. And then too when evil things happen, everyone naturally assumes it's God punishing them...and they forget all about the devil.....the devil is the God of the earth...when he was cast out of heaven and Adam turned all the authority over the world that God had given him over to the devil when Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit....now the devil is roaming the earth and he has accumulated so many followers....if you are not saved and serving God, then you are serving the devil......no one can serve 2 masters....the end is coming very quickly...most of the prophecy's in the Bible are coming true...and the world is self destructing...

And when you were young and talking to Jesus, Children until they reach a certain age have a link still to heaven...I had several people said their children have done things like this...my granddaughter has had several things happen to her.....and it's mentions in the Bible that Angels are messenger between God and us and you probably were talking to an Angel.

And God, Jesus , Holy Ghost thing.
People try to put God into humans abilities, and we do have some great mental abilities and our bodies or unduplicatable and scientist have and still are trying to make one from scratch. But God is a supernatural being...what he does and can do...we haven't come close to comprehend..he is so all powerful..look at where we live and if we are move off our orbit just a couple of inches we could move of our orbit and move towards the sun and burn up or move away from the sun and we freeze. How has it been able to stay there these billion of years, and this, our home ,the earth...everything was and is on it that has supported all these people for all these years and we never have run out, and these scientist think they discover all that has been accomplished...that's no coincident....they were allowed to find these things ...because all these things fit together like a puzzle and nothing on this earth came from no were but here and God created the Earth...and man
Another thing that shows how powerful he is , he sent part of himself to earth to be come flesh...because God can not step back on earth again because of it being so full of sin...God would destroy it again...so Jesus was sent...part of God, he knew he was born to die for our sins....so Jesus (God) came to earth threw a virgin to be the last blood sacrifice..he went to the cross...he took all the sin, disease, and death....if anyone believed in him he would have everlasting life in heaven .....and when Jesus died on the cross and rose on the 3rd day he appeared to the disciples for 50 days teaching them , and when he did leave he told them a comforter would come to live in all that believed in him and so the Holy spirit was sent to us the saved, to be with us til the end, and if you are saved you will have the Holy Spirit to guide you and you will grow and come to recognize his voice, and also the devils...because he will still try to get you back.....I hope this has helped
And there's one more thing I need to tell you but you need to email me ....because this is getting to long..

God Bless You

It is great you are going to church with your family. The best answer to your question is: By Faith. By giving your life to Jesus Christ, you are promised an eternity of heaven. You are never promised an easy road to get to heaven. Over the years and struggling with infertility, I have quesioned God many times about why people on crack have babies and people with 10 kids who are mistreated have babies and not me. I have learned that God doesnt work on our time schedule and He doesnt keep you from trials and tragedies. I cant tell you why some people live and others die but I know God has a plan for us all. Our mortal life is nothing but the blink of an eye in the realm of eternity. Eternity is so long our natural mind cant concieve of forever, without ending. Our trials and tribulations make up all that we are and our character. I have learned (and sometimes it is still hard) that when we go through trials, it builds my faith even more and prepares me for a blessing. I am being tested and refined when I go through hard times. Also, as far as murder and the like, Satan is at work in this society as well. He wants nothing more than for God to be blamed for his wrong doings. If he can posess some sick person who rapes or murders someone and then the blame goes on God, he has been successful. That is a large portion of what is wrong in todays thinking. It is easier to blame God than Satan. On a more positive note, being a Christian doesnt mean you will never have hard times or question the immorality in the world. It is building a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. The more intimate you are with God, the more he will reveal Himself to you and your faith will grow and you will question less and less. I dont think what you are feeling is weird at all but I would encourage you to press in to God. Be transparent with Him. Talk to Him everyday as if He was your best friend sitting right there in front of you because ultimatly, He is your best friend and is always in your midst. Dont give up, you are human and it is human nature to question the harsh realities of the world but God is not of this world. He has so much for you and it pleases Him immensly when you seek His face. I sure hope this helps. Feel free to email me with any other questions you may have. Good Luck and God Bless:)

It is hard to explain...no it's easy depending on how you look at it. I was raised going to church....we had revivals.....I wound up in church at least 3 times a week and some weeks every day. After I was out on my own I still would catch myself wondering about God, but then I'd catch myself and kinda think to myself "There is a God"....but always alittle doubt.
In the mid 90's I went through a very bad time...I lost my family (not a glam story I was just replaced over a short period of time with another guy who who was also a sailor, but off another boat) As a young sailor if you are not married you forfeit half your pay as child support and must live on board ship...anyway at one point I came home to find it cleaned out with the only thing left in my sons room being a little red and white sock...hurt very bad...I cried and was in very bad shape....I tried to call home for support but the phone had been cutoff...I was along way from home or any real help. After a long night I awoke to a strange feeling. I felt like on this day God was with me..it was a weird feeling because the doubt I had felt my entire life was gone. I hadn't thought about religion helping me out until that moment, I felt God letting me know he had my back and I would be fine...extreme inner piece.
So back to you...when God wants you to believe you will.

First of all, there is no difference in God and Jesus. Jesus is God's name. Jesus is God robed in flesh. Yes, Jesus will go with you, if you will allow him to. Children just seem to do this more naturally than adults. They're so trusting. Children are generally, just full of faith. The reason God helps some and seems to do nothing for others is, he only acts, in our lives, in response to prayer. He will never interfere where he is not wanted. It may seem that he has always watched out for you, even though you had no prayer life. Chances are somewhere, someone was praying for you.
