Just so we can straighten this out once and for all--Satanists neither believe in, nor worship, Satan. They don't believe in the Bible or God either. If anything, they would be said to worship self. "Do what thou will" and so on. They believe strongly that animals and children are not to be harmed, and they don't do human sacrifice--who would they sacrifice to anyway if they worship no one?

Luciferians are the ones that worship Satan, they see him as the good one and God as bad. I don't know much about them, as I have never met one to discuss religion.

Anyone else have anything to add about these particular religions? I mean, anything that's not cruel and ignorant, please. These guys are a legitimate religion too, even though you may not agree with them, they have as much a right as you do to exist and practice their beliefs.

John D-- stop jumping to conclusions like you were taught to. I'm Agnostic, which means I don't believe in your God but I will entertain the possibility, along with the fact that we all might be wrong about the afterlife. I am not a Satanist, thank you, there is a difference between my beliefs and theirs.

Moraes Fate--again, I never said I was a Satanist. Does everyone on here think that because I highlighted the differences between them and you that I am? How thick people can be still amazes me.

Onetwo--I am a female, you can clearly see that from the picture, thanks.

When I said "these particular religions" I meant Satanism and Luciferianism--not Atheists. Not all Atheists are Satanists and so on. Does the simple meaning of the question defy all intelligent answering? All I asked was if anyone else had something to add--not to criticize me.

And as for Atheism, some say it is a religion (albeit not an organized one) and some say it's not. By the looks of it, it's a belief not a religion. I know that.

I put "Atheists" in the question because a lot of people think that they believe in Satan and God. They do not believe in any god, and therefor are Atheists, correct? The definition of Atheist is to no believe in a god, they fit that quite nicely.

... except satanists don't worship satan or think that good is bad. They are pretty much their own gods, and follow the idea of the Nietzschean ubermenchen. They are actually good people, very down-to-earth and tolerant.

I agree with you about Satanism and Luciferianism, being that I am a Satanist atheist myself.

But I'm not sure why you mentioned atheists in your subject line since you never mention them again.

Thanks for the enlightenment. I don't know much about them. I saw Anton Lavey on a talk show once. He was up there with another Satan dude friend of his. Someone asked what they thought of Jesus and Anton answered calmly and said that "Jesus represents slavery to me."

The other guy got a crazy snarl and kept asserting "Jesus is dead!"

Just telling you what I saw. I remember it quite clearly because I thought it was a fascinating topic and I wanted to know what Anton had to say since he is so legendary.

The name "Satanism" is based upon a PRE-Christian life principle called "satan" - the one that existed for centuries before Christians hijacked the term to create a scapegoat devil to blame so they wouldn't have to take responsibility for their own actions.

Those who would like UNBIASED information about Satanism, rather than ignorant church propaganda and lies, can check out:

"You've obviously been led astray by lies. Even if you do not believe in God, you are satanic because that is what the devil wants you to think."

I believe you are the one led astray, sir.

However, to add, to be an Atheist does not mean you are part of a religion, but instead means that you do not believe in religion.

Just a little hint but if you don't believe in god and you don't believe in satan or the bible, then why would you bother to call yourself a satanist? The only place satan exists is in the Christian religion. The only reason to bother calling yourself a satanist is to snub the Christian god, which would therefore make you having something to do with god and Christianity. Its like children fighting against their parents.

A little logic goes a long way.

Atheism is not a religion. It is a lack of belief in gods.
