Well, depending on which movie you watch of fantasy book you have read, you may get trapped inside it or even summon up ol' Scratch himself.

In truth, nothing will happen unless it is done in chalk and you smudge it, in which case you would irritate who ever drew it and depending on the person and how perfect they were trying to draw it they may yell at you and call you bad names.

Because people mistakenly believe that this symbol has something to do with Satanism and Witchcraft. In fact only in the 19th century was the connection made - which LaVey capitalized on later on in the 20th.

The Pentagram was and is used by all religions throughout time. Pagans, Jews and Christians alike have all used the Pentagram. It is seen as an endless know - one that can be drawn without ever lifting the hand and drawn eternally. It can be seen as protection and power and appears in nature. Such as on sandollars and inside some apples.

There is nothing inherently evil in it. Merely the fear and misunderstanding spread by over zealous people have lead to these beliefs.

i'm a pagan, and i just don't know. i'd step on one without thinking. it's a symbol. the only meaning that is implied is the one you imply. i have a lot of pentagrams. it's the meaning that makes them sacred. one on the sidewalk? i would just think that there might be pagans living there.
