I think it's because Christians are CURRENTLY winning the long-standing WAR that has been running NONSTOP since the day R&S opened up...
Whoever is "losing" tends to get desperate - and say things that violate the Community Guidelines quicker...
That - and ANY attack against a person's religion IS a violation of those guidelines. Us Atheist (and Agnostics such as myself) have to choose our words carefully ;););)

One would hope so, but not in the manner you speak of.
I was raised a Christian; but probably spent most of my life as a pagan and more than a few years in New Age, a lot of meditation and serious reading on religious teachings of the Far East.
I've been on this site about 14 months and have 'reported' a hand full of 'religious' people for extreme prejudice, three of which were coupled with outright death threats. That was almost a year ago.
All this to say I cannot back your implication of a Christian conspiracy; because of how fragmented Christianity is in the real world and on R&S. On the other hand, there are some religious groups that run in packs in order to promote their belief system (not all Christian) and maybe boost some points.
It is a sorry situation if people are being deleted based only on their beliefs. I am personally in sympathy with anyone whose account is deleted without cause.
As to Yahoo it is a business and it runs on numbers. So I would have to conclude that deleting on any bias would not be in their best interest.
You can call them Christians if you want, and they might call themselves Christians, but my first pick would be one or two persons who are convinced in their mind that deleting atheists is doing God a service. In short you are looking for someone, perhaps two, very disturbed people.

May I ask this question- why were you and your wife's account deleted? Indulging in a robust debate about faith is one thing- however it depends on how you go about that. I see plenty of atheists and Muslims, pagans and buddhists on this site. Christians are bashed too here, believe you me!!

Do you guys really think that this might be because population wise there are just more christians responding ? Not necessarily an issue of a bias by whoever deletes accounts at yahoo ? I do not think that the thumbs up or down votes are generated by yahoo, i think those come from the account holders ? Not sure, just wondering ??

Not the last time I checked. You're still here. You've blamed the Christians or a group of people participating in R&S for shutting people out. How can this be? We don't have that kind of control. I have never reported anyone.
As far as the Yahoo answers team, I can't speak for them. I don't know 'em, nor do I communicate with them. How do you know that the majority of accounts being deleted belong to atheists?
Get a grip. Don't be paranoid. It's just a group of people online. Some take delight in reporting people they don't like. You take delight in asking antagonistic questions... to each his own.

I am not sure the world is ready for spaghetti monsters. Yahoo clearly have larger interests at stake than a few pastafarians here and there.
Setting bigotry aside for a moment, it is more likely that your wife breached community objectives. (At least that is, I think her avatar did perhaps even with me.... could be mistaken.. it was a long time ago).
As for the "other" demon~ inations... Buddhists and such.. in my opinion, they are not nearly as confrontational as Christians so may feel a little overwhelmed preferring instead to levitate above the raucous of squabbling Hindus and such.
Of course evangelism is important, so I think that accounts for the high proportion of professing Christians.

"debate" requires more than a Q & and A ... and on Y!A, the potential for "reasoned exchange of ideas" does not exist except by going "outside the structure"
"bais toward Christians" ?? ... at some level, there probably exists some of that, but honestly, I haven't observed much of a problem [I'm agnostic person with Buddhist and mystic leanings] ...
jerks exist here, but nothing new about that .. this is "life"
a lot of very nice people here as well .... tho I admit bias in what I take the time to read .. again, "everybody does it"
I confess to "participating in the myth of objectivity"
I've gotten undeserved thumbs-downs, but hey! look at my "name" lolol ... like I said before, jerks exist everywhere
{also got "violations" from the mathematics section ... but after asking Y!A people, they reversed it .. wooo hooo!! sometimes there reallly *IS* fairplay }
but again, on balance, people are "good"
the Nyquist-noise barrier is infringed on by the majority here, but that is to be expected
I still look for Zoroastrian posts with dim hope ... one of the finer religions people have ever created
peace

i don't know. What do you think? oh, you just stated it. I think R&S would be more interesting if there were other sections besides the main room. the clash between the atheists/pagans/muslims and the christians polarizes the entire forum.

Na. It just seems that way - the missing atheists and Muslims and Buddhists have converted to Christianity - that's why the percentages are changing......
