I will never say that any particular denomination or religion is better than another, or giving their deity a bad name, but I do to a degree think this pope is nowhere near the man that John Paul was. I think he is causing more tourmoile in the christian faith, and between other faiths, than should be. John Paul, especially in the last few years, promoted peace and understanding between other religions. I definately think he should be doing more in the world, and helping people, like his predecessor, instead of calling other people fakes. I may not be a christian, but I can still have respect for religious leaders who take an active role in the world, and do so by helping others, speading peace and understanding instead of name calling.

The Catholic Church has been teaching the world what it believes is the truth for almost 2,000 years. I do not think she will start teaching what she believes is a lie.

Here is the full text of the new document that states nothing new: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20070629_responsa-quaestiones_en.html

Most Christian denominations believe that each of them is the fullest version of the Church of Christ.

While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches:

Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.

All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 819: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9p3.htm#819

With love in Christ.

Absolutely. It's just like any other religion though. They all claim to be the perfect religion. Each one says that you must be that religion in order to get to heaven. And also the fact that Catholics put Mary first doesn't help. They say that they go through her to find Jesus or something, but why is it that they can't find Him on their own? Why do they have to go threw her or even a Priest to find God? And by the way how can they choose to follow a bunch of liars? Priests are about as Phony as politicians.

The Pope didn't say non-Catholics are fake, he just clarified that Roman Catholics have the fullness of Truth and all the means of salvation. He said that non-Catholics have partial truths, that's all. God bless.

well, it's certainly presumes that the Catholic Church knows the mind of God...which I think is arrogant.

Patrone - what is this fullness of truth that the rest of us are missing out on? Still sounds arrogant to me. So the rest of us non-catholics are only "partially saved"? Please elaborate...
