The Trek FX series is a better value than the Cannondale. Aside from that, I think there are designed better that the Cannondales in this segment. They are aggressive enough to be fun, but not enough to take away the advantages of hybrids. I don'tt hink you need the disk brakes. On this kind of bike I really think it's overkill and purely designed to be eye candy.

RE:
Which hybrid bike is better Cannondale Adventure 600/800 or Trek 7.3/5 FX Disc?
I'm looking for light bike for commuting and having some fun on the season. These 4 bikes have prices within 200 dollars one of another and seem pgood choices anyways. Trek has no suspension but disk brakes and cannondale seems to be a better build with a smaller distribution network though (if...

You are not really comparing apples to apples here. The Adventure bike are a more comfort oriented bicycle while the Trek 7.3 and 7.5 bicycles are more fitness/performance oriented. A more heads up comparision would be between the Adventure and the Trek Hybrid Series. Or, you could look at the Trek 7.3 and 7.5 versus the Cannondale Road Warrior series.
I concur with other folks opinions regarding disk brakes. Disk brakes are heavier than rim brakes. Furthermore, in my own humble opinion, the greatest advantage of disk brakes comes from hydraulic systems. Hydraulic disk brakes require only a very light touch which prevents fatigue on epic rides. Like rim brakes, mechanical disk brakes have springs and require a harder pull. You may find, though, you really like the additional stopping power provided by the disk brakes. If you like the stopping power and it makes you feel more comfortable you should go for it.
Otherwise, these are all fine examples of bicycles in their respective categories and price points. They have decent components and should provide a lot of riding pleasure.
Which is really the best is going to depend on what you are looking for. If you want a bicycle designed to sit mostly upright with a plush seat, and ride, I suspect you'll love the Cannondale. If you want a bit more performance oriented ride, I think you'll prefer the Trek.
I recommend you take a nice long ride on each bicycle and make your choice based on how each bicycle feels and how much money you want to spend.
Most good bicycle shops will provide you a free tune-up or other goodies to induce you to buy their bike and come back for service. Be sure to take advantage of whatever they are giving you. With respect to service, though, any good shop mechanic will be able to work on either of these bikes.

I agree with the above. Disc Brakes are overkill on a hybrid. Have you also looked at Giant's Cypress line of hybrids. I honestly think that you get the best bang for the buck.
