Muslims believe that Jesus is Christ (Surah 3:45), was born of a virgin birth, and performed miracles. If a Muslim says he is a Christian also, isn't he correct? Muslim means one who submits to the will of GOD. Since Christians and Jews submit to GOD, could they technically be considered a Muslim?

There is but one God...and I believe he is the God of Christians, Jews and Muslims alike. We just take a different viewpoint on what God wants from us. Perhaps we all are right...or perhaps none of us are totally right. Seek God first...and He will lead you.

What is the definition of a christian?

In Act 11.26b the disciples of Jesus were first called christians. these disciples believed in 2 Tim 2.8 "Jesus Christ raised from the dead, desended from David" were preaching and persecuted because of Jesus.

Christian is not someone who merely knows that Jesus was (the anointed one - Christ), born of vigin and performed miracles. A Christian must believe with his heart and confess with his mouth the Jesus alone is Lord and saviour Rom 10.9[Son of God, is Himself God, and He alone can save you from the cluthes of Hell]

Muslims know Jesus existed and consider him as a prophet. the bible clearly says that Jesus is the way to God, to eternal life. notice the definite article 'the' which means he is the only way to heaven. there is no other ways.

Jews worship the same God, But Sin has seperated man from approching God directly. God himself made it possible for man to approach Him without being destroyed through Jesus. those who believe in jesus's saving grace can approach the throne of God and receive all the heavenly blessings and protection. But Jews hv yet to accept this Truth.

So to answer your ques. No muslims and jews are not christians unless they repent of their sins and receive Jesus as their sole savior.

God Bless

The reason that a muslim is not a Christian is that they reject the deity of Christ.

A muslim sees Christ merely as a prophet. A special prophet to be sure but only a prophet.

Deny the deity of Christ and you are not a Christian in the true sense of the word. Like a mormon.

Technically, A Christian believes Jesus Christ IS God, part of God. They believe the reason we have eternal life in heaven is because Jesus died for their sins in order to be "saved" from hell. Basically sacrificing himself.

So not really, because Muslim does not believe the Jesus IS God. And that is the essence of Christianity.

It is more than submitting to God, for mostly all religions do that.

But hey! God is God to me, you don't need a name or religion to celebrate him :)

No. Christians believe in the Trinity, God as Father, Son, and Spirit. Meaning that to Christians Jesus was in fact God in the human form of his Son. It also goes hand in hand with God being everywhere and multidimensional.

In the Islamic view this is abhorrent, as it is viewed at polytheism; and the idea of being several AND one is considered beyond the realm of logic and therefore not debated.

Jesus, in the Islamic view, was Holy man and a great prophet, but NOT the Son of God, nor God himself.

No. Muslims don't believe Christ was the son of God--just a prophet. That completely rips the heart out of Christianity.

Christians don't believe in Mohammed at all. Completely rips the heart out of Islam.

Absolutely not.
Muslims do not believe Jesus is the only way to God.

Jesus said in Joh 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

It is true that they believe, but not as the son of God,so those who believe that he died and is the son of God, can only be called "Christians." Muslims don't believe he died on the cross, but do believe he is the savior.

Allah has no son, and God does.

God gave his only begotten Son to shed his own blood and die in my place to purchase and redeem my soul.

Allah gave nothing, but sent a 600-winged angel to give a recitation to Muhammad.

I know where I am going when I die. My redemption is already bought and fully paid for.

Not even Muhammad knew where he was going to go when he died, according to the Hadith.
