My dad has a basic individual plan for verizon wireless. i was wondering if he can add an additional line for i can use. or would he have to sign up for a family plan. if he can just add the line regularly how much would it cost.

He can add a line. The cost is based on what plan he is on now. For instance, if he is on a $39.99 basic plan now, the lowest share plan that is offered is $69.99. So it would be $30 additional to add on the additional line.

Best bet would be to see what plan he is currently on, and then see how many minutes the two of you would need.

Pricing and plans are available on www.verizonwireless.com Going to share plan instead of 2 individual plans is more than likely the cheapest way for you to go.

he will have to go one the family plan, but don't. I did that and after two years, my 'family' just dropped off their phones and left. I have been trying unsuccessfully to return to the individual plan. It is really expensive to go back because of cancelling lines cost $175 for each line to cancell.

yes you can have 2 individual lines that are not set up as a family share plan. Prices are available at www.verizonwireless.com .

he'll need the family plan and then its only $10 extra / mo per line
we have the family plan... it runs us about $156/mo for 5 people (maximum allowed) with free long distance and 2100 free share minutes
