Only use tampons during your period never between menstrual cycles. You can get Toxic Shock Syndrome if you wear tampons just to wear them.

If I were you I would NOT use them when you do not have a period. You might develop TSS. And quiet frankly I think it would be rather uncomfortable to insert them.

A box of tampons always comes with a long boring peice of paper explaining proper usage and risks, etc. I suggest you might want to buy one to read it :)

It's pretty pointless - and a waste of time and money!

The purpose of a tampon is to help absorb your period - so if there's nothing for it to do, then WHY use it?

As for being MEDICALLY alright - I'll leave that one for the girls to answer. Being a buy, I've never used one - so I can't give THAT sort of advice ;););)

Absolutely not. It dries up the important fluids inside and can lead to "toxic shock syndrome".

Why would you want to jam stuff up there if you didn't have to? Leave it alone...you will be wishing you did not have to ever do this when you start your period and you get tired of messing around with those damn strings!

Trust me, it's not a good idea, once i stuck it in so far it got stuck. Don't even make me tell you about the campfire incident afterwards.

According to your other question, you're pregnant. Why do you want to use tampons? No, they aren't ok if you aren't flowing, and why would you want to? If you have discharge, use a pantyliner.
